Qatar appoints its new ambassador to Iran

In a decree, Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani appointed Mohammed Saad Al Fuhaid Al Hajri as the country’s ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Qatar appoints its new ambassador to IranTehran (Defapress) – The newly-appointed Qatari ambassador to Tehran will replace Ali bin Hamad Al Sulaiti who will be serving as Qatar's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Peru.

The newly-appointed Qatari ambassador to Iran has previously served as Qatar's ambassador to Yemen, Libya, and Greece.

When the Saudi embassy in Tehran was stormed after the assassination of a senior Shia cleric by Saudi regime in 2015, Qatar and some other Arab countries recalled their ambassadors from Tehran in a sign of support for the Riyadh government.
