Bahrain sets record in number of political prisoners: ActivistTEHRAN (Defapress)-Jalal Firouz made the remarks Monday : Human rights condition in Bahrain is getting worse and worse every day, he said, adding that the situation is too dangerous at the moment, he said.

Al-Khalifa (Bahrain's ruling family) regime has an appaling record in human rights, and Human Rights Council and all other international bodies have testified that the regime is killing, displacing its citizens, and disrupting and changing the country's demographic structure by giving citizenship to foreign nationals, he added.

With the current situation, there is no hope of changing the regime's behavior toward people which can be summarized in chaos, dictatorship, tyranny, murder and plundering, he noted.

House of Khalifa tends to enslave the Bahraini people and do not want to tolerate any oppossition idea, and such authoritarian thoughts cannot be changed, Firouz said.

The existence of the Bahraini system relies on two elements of Saudi and Emirati financial and military assistance and the international political and arms support of the United States, the UK and other European countries, he added.

He went on to say that if Saudi Arabia and the UAE did not support Bahrain, the regime could not resist against Bahraini people.

The situation of Al-Khalifa prisons is very serious and severe pressures are being imposed on prisoners depriving them of basic needs such as food, treatment, religious books, and even visiting their families, he reiterated.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Firouz referred to Bahrain's leading Shia cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim who is now under Bahraini regime’s siege saying Bahrain targets anyone whom people are inspired by.

Bahraini people have been fighting for more than seven years and will continue to fight until they meet their demands, he added.
