US unable to achieve own political goals through sanctioning Iran

US unable to achieve own political goals through sanctioning IranAyatollah Mohammad-Ali Movahedi Kermani said that the United States’ dream of defeating Iran will never come true, stressing that the US will further isolate itself by sanctioning Iran.

Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani addressed the US president Donald Trump, saying that US cannot continue its bullying policies and even its European allies are tired of such policies.

“The United States wants to punish the countries which abide by the law, but such policies will have repercussions and the United States will become more isolated day by day,” he underlined.

The Tehran Interim Friday Prayers Leader pointed to the sixth trilateral meeting between the foreign Ministers of Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkey in Istanbul, noting all the countries in the region, except for some, support Iran and are opposed to the US Sanctions.

He said that at the Istanbul meeting, the participants vowed to continue cooperation with Iran despite the risk of US sanctions, stressing that the US dreams will never come true.

“The possibility that America will be able to achieve its economic goals by imposing sanctions against Iran is weak, but it will certainly not achieve its political goals,” Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani asserted.

He said that for the first time that Europeans are acting against the US policies by creating a [financial] mechanism to avoid sanctions.

The Tehran Interim Friday Prayers Leader also referred to the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi by the Saudi regime, saying that the Americans do not know how to continue ‘milking’ Saudis but avoid the world’s wrath.

Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani went on to say “unfortunately, the Arbaeen mourners in Nigeria were attacked by the police and a number of them were wounded or became martyred,” while condemning the attack as ‘unjustifiable.’

“The Shiites must negotiate with their government and reach an agreement and the Ulema can also prevent such catastrophes from happening again through their guidance,” he noted.

Then, he referred to the formation of the new government in Iraq, expressing his happiness with the people who have taken different posts.
