TEHRAN(defapress)– In a meeting with his Afghan counterpart in Kabul on Monday, Pakistan's foreign minister reiterated establishing peace in Afghanistan is a regional responsibility.

Afghanistan peace, regional responsibilityLeading a high-level delegation, Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Afghanistan, was welcomed by Salahuddin Rabbani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, and the two sides exchanged views on improving bilateral relations and peace talks.

Stressing Pakistan's efforts to bring about peace, Qureshi said a stable and safe Afghanistan provides benefits to Pakistan.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister emphasized Pakistan's non-interference in Afghanistan's internal affairs and considered holding successful peace talks the responsibility of all regional countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan said the two visits of Pakistan's Foreign Minister to Afghanistan is a sign of improvement in mutual relations.

He also emphasized direct talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban group.

Qureshi also met Afghanistan's president, the details of the meeting, however, have not been made available to the media.

Pakistan's prime minster is scheduled to head to Tehran from Kabul to discuss bilateral ties and Afghanistan's peace process with Iranian officials.
