Iran Condemns Pompeo’s Warmongering RemarksIran’s Foreign Ministry censured Pompeo for making fresh remarks against Tehran, urging the United States to learn lessons from its consecutive defeats in the Middle East.

"The US must learn lessons from the defeat of its numerous warmongering policies in the region over the past decades and know that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not value such US threats and will not be swayed by them," Qassemi said on Monday.

He added that American officials think that they can achieve their "illegitimate" goals, which are nothing but spreading insecurity in the region and creating new tensions among regional countries, by taking actions in violation of international principles and the United Nations Charter.

"This is while the warmongers in Washington are ignorant of the fact that Iran will strongly continue its principled and strategic policy, which is based on peaceful interaction and coexistence with neighbors," Qassemi pointed out.

He emphasized that Iran through its vigilance and wisdom would not allow US officials to fulfill their spiteful dreams.

Speaking in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, on Saturday, Pompeo said the US withdrawal from Syria is merely a "tactical change" that will not alter its military capacity to fight the ISIL terrorist group or Iran.

In a related front, on August 20, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a message to the Hajj pilgrims blasted the US for its warmongering policies in the Middle East and provoking differences among Muslims to massacre them by fellow brothers.

"The US is inciting the Muslims to fight against each other," the Supreme Leader said in his message.

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that US' essential policy against Islam and the Muslims is warmongering.

In a related front, on December 13, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the US government has been the main supporter of the misery-bringers in the region, from Saddam to the ISIL, holding Washington accountable for crimes in Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.

“The US and (its) allies should cease their hypocritical absurdities about Iran's missiles and regional ‘behavior’. Facts speak for themselves,” Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote in a tweet, referring to US supports for former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussain and Washington’s involvement in funding and arming terrorists groups in the Middle East like Taliban and the ISIL.

“It's they who sell $100s of billions in arms to butcher Yemenis and it's they and their clients—NOT Iran—who're responsible for miseries from Saddam to ISIS,” Zarif highlighted, criticizing the US government for favoring the countries which buy the most of US arms.
