In a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador in Madrid Hassan Qashqavi, Garcia-Escudero hoped that EU would be able to offer necessary guarantees for saving JCPOA and Iran’s enjoyment of its benefits by adopting constructive policies.
He reiterated that the US unilateral sanctions against Iran have damaged interests of his country’s companies.
Qashqavi, for his part, hailed Iran-Spain growing relations in various fields, saying that the two countries’ parliaments shoulder a significant responsibility in promoting Tehran-Madrid ties.
He also hoped that cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments would further improve.
The exhibition ‘Iran, Cradle of Civilizations’ will open in Madrid on March 14 and will continue five months in cooperation with the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, he said, noting that the exhibition will play a crucial role in bringing the two nations closer to each other.
Iran’s ambassador also stressed the need for European states to comply with their commitments under the JCPOA and work for Iran’s benefits.
