Iran Expects Kuwait to Take Anti-US StancesIn a telephone conversation with Emir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday, President Hassan Rouhani voiced Iran’s readiness for collective cooperation to ensure regional and international peace and stability and also to cope with the coronavirus in the current delicate situation.

“We expect the friendly country, Kuwait, to adopt stances on the regional issues and also (against) the US’ inappropriate behavior,” the Iranian president said, according to his official website.

Reiterating the necessity of concerted efforts in the fight against the novel coronavirus, Rouhani said, "The Islamic Republic has gained good experiences in this field and is ready to transfer its experiences to friendly countries, including Kuwait."

He also appreciated the efforts made by the emir of Kuwait for regional stability, saying, "I emphasize that there is no way to ensure security and stability in the region except through cooperation and friendship among the countries of the region itself."

In turn, the Emir of Kuwait described Iran as a brotherly nation, adding, "Today, we are all in a difficult situation and in order to overcome this situation, we must cooperate with each other and develop our communication."

He also welcomed the initiative presented by Iran to provide security in the region, known as Hormuz Peace Endeavour, and noted, "Kuwait's positions have always been for peace and we hope some of our friends and brothers in the region will behave wisely."

Appreciating Iran's behavior and its logical stances on important regional and international issues, the Emir of Kuwait welcomed Iran's readiness to share the experience in combatting coronavirus with his country.
