Iranian Parliamentary Delegation in Georgia to Discuss Bilateral Ties

A delegation from the Iranian parliament left the country on Monday for Tbilisi to hold talks with Georgian officials on a whole range of issues, including ways to promote bilateral ties in diverse areas.

Iranian Parliamentary Delegation in Georgia to Discuss Bilateral Ties

“Iran-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group, which is composed of 6 members of the Iranian parliament, left for Georgia Today,” MP Rouhollah Beigi, the deputy head of the friendship group, told the Tasnim News Agency on Monday.
He also said that during its 7-day trip to Georgia, the delegation is slated to meet with the country’s senior officials and discuss way to deepen ties in all areas, including in the spheres of economy, politics, tourism and agriculture.
Earlier this month, Iran’s Envoy to Tbilisi Abbas Talebifar had voiced the country’s willingness to boost cooperation with Georgia, particularly in economic fields.
The remarks was raised by Talebifar in a meeting with Tbilisi Mayor David Narmania during which they explored avenues for closer cooperation between the two countries.
Touching upon the future prospects of the ties between Tbilisi and Tehran, the Iranian envoy stressed his country's desire to invest in Georgia.
