DM Stresses Iran's Self-Sufficiency in Production of Weapons, Military Equipment

"Today, we have reached many aspects of independence and we provide our defensive needs in all fields," General Hatami said, addressing a forum in Tehran on Wednesday.

"Wherever we need to change or enhance our defense achievements, we are able to turn it into a new product and use it," he added.

General Hatami also underscored Iran's sustainable security in the region, adding, "Thanks God, our country enjoys full security in a region full of insecurities."

His comments came after the Iranian defense ministry in a ceremony on Tuesday unveiled a new home-made propulsion system for high-speed vessels with a rotating shaft and 1,800 seahorse power.

"The most important capability of this propulsion system is that it is equipped with automatic guiding system," Iranian Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Qassem Taqizadeh said, addressing the ceremony.

In relevant remarks in October, General Hatami underscored that his country doesn’t take permission from any power to defend itself.

"We will not allow start of a new threat against the country and we will powerfully defend the country, the Islamic Republic and our Islamic values and will not wait for permission from anyone on this path and we will try to establish stability and security in the region with good will," General Hatami said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran.

He described allegations that Iran interferes in the regional states' internal affairs as lies, and said, "Iran's presence in the region is demanded by the legal governments of countries and the Islamic Republic of Iran has not made any move without receiving permission from these governments first."
